Introducing "Home": A Transformative Musical Journey by DnA
The innovative duo DnA proudly announces the release of their highly anticipated album, "Home," a captivating exploration divided into three parts. This album, born from the depths of the pandemic, invites listeners on an adventure through the portals of transition and transformation, reflecting on our internal sense of home, the beauty of Scotland, our planet Earth, and the cosmos, as well as their recent move to Angus, Scotland.
"Home" serves as a heartfelt map through the duo's personal journey, chronicling their experiences as life unfolds. Denise and Ali, married for over eight and a half years and friends for 17, have navigated the complexities of life together as business partners, wives, and collaborators. Their deep love and mutual support resonate throughout the album, as they delve into the impact and impasses encountered during their shared exploration of sound and self.
Musically, "Home" blends Scottish electronic cinematic folk with a tapestry of influences drawn from a lifetime of experiences. Denise (D) enriches the album with digitalised recordings of reel-to-reel tapes discovered in her parents' attic, including voice clips from her parents, grandparents, and great-grandmother, allowing their vibrations to ripple through the music. Ali (A), an accomplished BVS professional and choir leader, adds the vocal essence of the present, enhancing the family narrative woven throughout the project.
Both Denise and Ali, seasoned singing teachers and vocal psychology researchers, have dedicated their careers to helping others find their voice and achieve their goals of being heard and seen. Denise's background as a psychotherapist complements their holistic approach to music, while Ali's continuous support fills in the gaps, enhancing their recording and production skills.
The joy of singing together and sharing their art is a privilege that DNA cherishes deeply. Their musical influences include notable artists such as Paulo Nutini, James Blake, Frightened Rabbit, Martyn Bennett and Blue Nile, which have shaped their unique sound.
"Home" is more than just an album; it is a testament to resilience, love, and the power of music to connect us all. Join DNA on this transformative journey as they invite listeners to explore the essence of home in all its forms.
